About The Adventurer
Hello I’m Johnny
Hello, my name is Johnny. I’m the guy you will be deciding where my life goes for the next few years. I’m super excited to take this adventure with you and see what exotic places you will be sending me. Feel free to flip around and see where I will be heading and please vote for whatever destination is currently up for a vote on my home page. But, for now, here’s a little about the adventurer…aka me.
I grew up in the suburbs of Minnesota and was mainly interested in theater. At the age of 18, I moved to NYC to attend a musical theater school. My life as an actor was fairly successful, and it was also the first time I fell in love with travel. My favorite times as an actor was when I would tour with different shows. I saw so much of the United States during the 6 national tours I took part in. Honestly, it was my favorite time as an actor.
As I got closer to 30s, I decided to leave acting, and I moved out to San Francisco for three years, where I was a bartender and just took some time to enjoy life. No responsibilities, just living. That’s where I met my best friend Patrick. I had always wanted to travel overseas, but he got it in my head that I NEED to go. We would discuss going to Ireland or Italy, but it was all just daydreams.
After a few years in San Francisco, I started to miss NYC and decided to move back, leaving my bestie behind. Sadly, about two years after I left, Patrick passed unexpectedly, and that’s when I decided to take a trip in his honor.
That trip changed my life. That trip brought me where I am today. I decided I want to live a nomadic life. Before meeting Patrick, the best part of my life was traveling on a bus when I was an actor. While the rest of the cast was excited to go home at the end of the tour, I wanted to keep going. Not keep doing the show, but keep traveling.
So, that brings us to today. I have a one-way ticket to Paris on May 30th, and I will try to travel for as long as possible. And I want you to come along for the ride. Thanks for joining me on the new adventure. So, where should we go next?
