I have another unexpected weekend off, and I want an adventure. While there is plenty to see in Minnesota, I need a change of scenery. So, I thought I would head over the border to the cheese capital of the U.S.A., Wisconsin. I found a couple of cool spots to check out for a wacky and wild Wisconsin weekend, and you get to choose what you want to see.
1: Wisconsin Dells
The Waterpark Capital of the World, AKA Wisconsin Dells, has been entertaining families for years. I should know as I went there on vacation thirty years ago with my family when I was ten. But while waterpark weather has not hit the midwest yet, there is so much more to explore. There is so much to do in Wisconsin Dells, from a robot museum and zip lines to Circus World and horseback riding. This option is full of adventure and fun.
2: Madison And The Cave Of The Mounds
Madison is the historic Capital of Wisconsin and, at the same time, a hip college town. There is so much to check out with modern art and science museums to explore and great restaurants and shops. But the real reason to take this drive would be for The Cave of the Mounds. These beautiful caves look amazing and seem like an experience worth the drive.
3: Door County
Located just a little past Green Bay, Door County is on the shoreline of Lake Michigan. This trip would be full of scenic drives and sunsets over the lake. A relaxing getaway for anyone who wants to escape from it all. A great way to enjoy and kick back on an unexpected weekend getaway.
