This Wednesday storms are in the forecast, so I had to find an activity indoors to take you along with me. And the two most interesting things I found were The House of Balls and The Spam Museum. One is a museum of processed meat and the other is a guy who carves bowling balls. And I would be excited to bring you along to either.
The Spam Museum
If you haven’t had Spam, it is a can of salty meat that comes in a can and could survive a nuclear war. I am now a vegetarian, but I have enjoyed many nights eating fried Spam and rice with soy sauce while watching “Annie” starring Carol Burnett. And though I lived most of my adult life in New York City, I’m surprised I never took a trip to the Spam Museum on one of my visits home. This museum is just the right amount of weird, that I would love to check it out with you all.
The House of Balls
Okay. I know you’re probably all thinking, “Is there anything that is going to beat the Spam Museum?” Well, The House of Balls is pretty awesome, and I didn’t even know it existed till I found this guy’s site while searching for this vote. The House of Balls is a cool little gallery filled with bowling balls that are carved into art. Hence “The House of Balls”. It’s not just bowling balls either. He takes other everyday items and creates visual eye candy out of them. It looks like a really cool place, and I personally am always glad to help out a local Artist.
Where Should We Go Next?
So, where are you going to send me this week? A museum full of salty meat or a house of balls? Vote in the poll below and let me know. Because it’s not just my adventure, it’s OUR adventure.
Did you miss the last adventure you sent me on? Check out my trip to the Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota.
